BIG BUDDHA!

swim at the really, really warm beach

Today we went to the cable car that took us up to Ngong Jing(little village), that contains the biggest sitting Buddha outdoors in the world! We soon left there and caught the bus to a smaller village next to the beach and had lunch there. Did I mention that Paul's friend Andrew had stayed the night and came with us today?

After lunch, Mum, Dad, Josh and I stayed and had a swim at the beach while Paul, Andrew and Matt went back to Paul's flat and Andrew went to the Airport to catch the plane to Australia. At the beach Dad threw Josh and I into the air and over the waves, that weren't very big! Mum and I went back in and sat on the sand and made a little footbath.

We left and just missed the bus we were going to catch by 5 secs. That didn't matter though because we just caught the next one, even though we had to stand up. Bus to the train station, train to another bus and bus to home. Mum, Paul and Dad have just gone to get tea.

Lazy Day

swim in the pool and tea on the beach

All we did today was sit on the couch, swim and have tea at the beach.

There are 3 different pools, Blu Blu Pool, Green Green Pool and Chic Chic Pool. We went to Chic Chic Pool and stayed there for aaagggess!!! At all the pools there is a Sauna, at the CCP there is both a Sauna and a Steam Room. Mum and I went in both but we didn't really like the Steam Room because you could hardly breathe and it felt like it was going to boil us to death. The Sauna was hotter than the SR and we stayed in there to dry off after our swim.

There is a little machine that dries your bathers in 10 secs. Mum and I both put ours in to dry. Soon after we left and went to the restaurant that we had been to the first night we came here.

Ocean Park

Today we went to Ocean Park which is a theme park as well as an aquarium, water show and panda habitat. Today was even hotter than yesterday and everyone had umbrellas for shade instead of rain. I got poked with umbrellas quite a few times and it was really annoying. We went up the cable car to where all the rides were. We tried to get into the dolphin show but all the seats were taken. So we decided to have lunch, the view from the restaurant was spectacular. It looked out over the ocean and all the islands.
Since the next dolphin show was not until 5:30pm we went on a water ride that was really tame. It was then time to go to the dolphin show. I absolutely love dolphins and was really disappointed when they did not pick me to help. They also brought out seals. The seals did all sorts of tricks and one went down the slide. The dolphins were fantastic, they all jumped really high in the air. There were four dolphins altogether and the trainers made them do all sorts of tricks by using a whistle to communicate. When the show finished we went down to a ride that was a pirate ship that swung like a pendulum. It was even higher than the one at Movieland. After that ride we all went on, including Josh, a rollercoaster that did loop the loops and was really jerky. Mum and I went on it twice. We then caught the cable car back to the entrance area where we then went into the aquarium. There were all sorts of different creatures that live in the ocean, including: a two headed sting ray that we think is called a manta ray.
After we went into the gift shop we watched the water show that had fire works, laser light show that was projected onto water in time to music and special effects. Once that was finished we left OP and caught a cab to Stanley Plaza where we had tea while watching the cricket.
We all had showers when we got home because we'd had the sweatiest day of our lives.
I went to sleep at 1:23am!

Hot and Sweaty in Hong Kong

Nan Lian Garden

It's only our first day in HK and already we're sweating. Caught one bus and three trains to Nan Lian Garden. There was a little pond that was a moat to the Perfection Pavilion. Paul took our photo in front of it but unfortunately, we could not go inside. We kept on walking to a spot where you could see all of the really big fish. I took a picture with my camera. The garden had a really big waterfall and behind the waterfall was a restaurant where we had lunch. It was a set menu four course meal that was Chinese and vegetarian. I mainly ate rice but did try a few other things. Matt, Josh and I used chopsticks until the lady came and gave us spoons because we were not using the chopsticks properly. Once we had finished our meal we went outside and it was pouring. We bought two more umbrellas for Josh and I. That night we hired the BBQ near the pool and had a BBQ tea. We also went for a swim and I went in the sauna which was in the girls changerooms.

Hong Kong

Paul met us at the airport and gave us our Octopus cards which we use to catch the train, bus or ferry. We went to Paul's flat which is on Park Island and on the 31st floor which is very, very high. We walked down to the beach and had tea at a restaurant close by. After tea, we walked down the beach and put our feet in the water. It was really warm. After that we went into the supermarket and then went home.
